The Hugo de Grootkade was the first "living street" experiment in Amsterdam.
Total closure of the street for four weeks for car traffic and car parking in order to make room for social activities. Events were organised at the street by citizens. Only emergency vehicles could have access in case of emergency. The experiment carried out after the pilot focusing on social impacts and upscaling "Leefstraten" pilots.

To change the mobility function of a street in a place to stay. Objective of the pilot was to understand whether there is a need for Leefstraten and what the impact is on the neighbourhood.
